Course Description:
Language Arts I is a required comprehensive language skills course including reading, literature, composition, grammar usage, and research skills. Students will provide and apply previous language arts skills to age appropriate material. Students will read short stories, drama selections, and several novels. They will apply elements of literature to various selections. Also, students will write compositions with correct grammar usage techniques. As students in Language Arts I Honors, you will be expected to complete additional writing and reading assignments, and you will generally have less time to complete them than the students in Language Arts I. The schedule is demanding because you have proven that you are capable of managing a challenging course load. Our discussions will cover many topics, and high levels of participation are required for this course. |
